- A physical education teacher at JIES supports the art and music programs in their special events. He or she also organizes Field Day activities at the end of the School Year.
- SALARY/BENEFITS:
- The beginning teacher salary is $45,000 per year for a Bachelor's degree or $50,000 per year for a Master's degree. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in PE or a related field is preferred and the Praxis in PE (5091) is required. If a PE teacher does not have a degree, but does have the Praxis successfully completed, the salary is $35,000 per year.
- Teachers receive full benefits. Our benefit package is excellent - truly - and provides health, dental, and limited vision benefits. James Irwin Charter Schools' benefits for full-time employees cover all the employee's costs for insurance. FT employees may choose from several options for their insurance plans, including a traditional co-pay plan or a high deductible plan with a Health Savings Account.
- There are 191 work days in the JICS working agreement. This extends from July through May.
- Full time employees are paid monthly in 12 equal amounts.
