QUALIFICATIONS: Arkansas Certification in Elementary Counseling
LOCATION: CHENAL ELEMENTARY & CLINTON ELEMENTARY
REPORTS TO: Building Principals
JOB GOALS: Maintain guidance and counseling services for elementary students including sessions and group activities in cooperation with faculties and parents to provide opportunities for optimum growth and development of these students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide counseling individually and/or in small groups for students referred by teachers, principals, parents, and others.
- Work with parents and school staff to meet the individual needs of students referred.
- Make home visits as needed to counsel with parents (guardians) of students referred.
- Work with referral sources in meeting special needs of students referred.
- Make anecdotal record for each student served individually for counseling purpose only.
- Provide classroom guidance and counseling activities for students.
- Assist teachers in conducting group guidance activities.
- Assist teachers in interpreting and using standardized test results.
- Inservice staffs on services of the Guidance Department.
- Participate in other school activities.
- Complete monthly logs delineating (by race) services provided.
- Know Board of Education policies, Desegregation Plan, district and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to same.
- Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule - Placement on schedule depends on education and experience

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
