Electronics Technician

At the full performance level, the incumbent serves as a journeyman level Electronics Technician performing highly specialized technical work in support of the Air Traffic Organization, Central Service Area, Technical Operations, Facilities and Engineering Services, Engineering Support Group, Employee Development Center.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position at the FV-G (FG/GS-10-11) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-F, FG/GS 9. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience includes: Experience with installation, maintenance, and modification of electronics and environmental equipment. Equipment may include equipment related to radar systems, navigational aid equipment such as lighted and distance measuring equipment, communication systems such as radio/microwave communications.

To qualify for this position at the FV-H (FG/GS-12) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-G, FG/GS 10/11. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience may include: Work as an electronics installation technician demonstrating a theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic principles, and of the characteristics, function, operation and capabilities of a variety of types of electronic equipment. Work includes installation, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of systems and system components such as computers, navigation and communications equipment, and electronic data communications equipment.
