This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. HII, Mission Technologies a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is currently seeking an experienced Electronics Technician supporting the NSWC Crane OE-319 EW Antenna DEPOT. Responsible for trouble shooting, repair and overhaul of the OE-319 EW Antenna System to include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to company standards. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the development of NAVAIR Maintenance Plans and Maintenance Concepts.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
• Provides management and customer all required reports to include, but not limited to weekly and monthly status reports.
• Provides technical support in the areas of analysis, verification, measurement support, and equipment characteristics.
• Performs engineering computations, manually or through the use of automated analysis programs (e.g., propagation, intermodulation, and frequency assignment).
• Collects technical data from appropriate documentation (e.g., technical manuals and internal and external reports), automated files, and other staff.
• Determines and interprets equipment characteristics data, performs necessary analysis, and transcribes to required formats.
• Provides analysis and assembly of systems and sub-systems.
• Assists engineers in technical aspects of project work.
• Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties.
What you must have:
• Associate degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience.
• J-STD Cert or IPC 7711/7721 Cert (Inactive) (and must have the ability to pass certification/recertification tests and maintain qualification standards)
• Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, both verbally and in writing. Additionally, they should have the capacity to comprehend and follow instructions, whether they are presented verbally or in writing.
• Be a self-starter and be able to work on Depot related issues in a proactive manner.
• Possess a robust understanding of interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings. Additionally, they should have a solid background in both mechanical and electronics fields.
• Familiarity and general understanding of Radio Frequency propagation.
• Experience making repair and replacement decisions.
• Knowledge of Synchro and Servo applications (with troubleshooting), basic electrical theory and understanding of trouble shooting techniques to the unit or component are requirement.
• A strong working knowledge on the use of test equipment which includes digital multi-meters, Noise figure Analyzers, RF spectrum Analyzers and their applications in troubleshooting system problems down to the component.
• Possess the ability to properly use hand tools and understanding torque value settings.
• Independent/Critical thinking and ability to devise troubleshooting paths for issues not normally seen or that have not been previously recorded.
• Must be able to work standing for more than 1-2 hours without a break.
• Physically qualified to obtain a 3k (minimum) forklift license and drive a truck and trailer of 5 tons or less for movement of OE-319 assets.
• Physically able to lift at least 45 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel are required.
• CONUS travel may be required once or twice a year.
Must be US Citizen and have a clearance or be able to obtain a DOD Secret level upon hire.
Preferred Requirements
• J-STD Cert or IPC 7711/7721 Cert (Active) and ability to pass recertifications
Physical Requirements
May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
