Job Description
AFCO Performance Group will be hiring an Electronic Technician Assembler in Boonville, Indiana.
The Electronic Technician Assembler is responsible for the assembly, diagnosis, repair, and quality control of electronic scale systems and other related equipment. This includes soldering cables, load cells, control boxes, gauge panels, and switch panels. The role also involves installing software and screen protectors on tablets, and packaging finished products for shipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Solder cables, load cells, control boxes, gauge panels, and switch panels for assembling scale systems and other products.
- Perform diagnosis, repair, and quality control on computer scales and other electronic equipment.
- Read bill of materials (BOM), drawings, and schematics to assemble products accurately.
- Utilize hand/power tools, soldering, and/or crimping techniques for assembly.
- Install software on tablets.
- Package completed scale pads into cardboard boxes for shipment to customers.
- Ensure all components are defect-free and undamaged before assembly/installation.
- Complete housekeeping duties in the work area as needed.
- Complete tasks within assigned timeframes and according to specifications.
- Follow established AFCO Performance Group and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally over 50 pounds.
- Capable of alternating between sitting and standing throughout the day and standing for long periods when required.
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity for handling small and intricate parts.
- Fine motor skills are essential.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in electronic assembly and repair, or a 2-year electronics degree/certificate preferred.
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and measurement devices (e.g., tape measure, caliper, micrometer).
- Strong soldering and electronic assembly skills.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professionalism, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong people skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, high work ethic, and a teamwork mentality.
- Telephone tech experience is a plus.
- Confidence to deliver above-average product quality and efficiency.
