Job Description:
Abiomed is recruiting for a 1st ShiftElectronics Production Associate II in our Sensor Operations group located in Woburn, MA. As part of our innovative and dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in assembling, inspecting, and testing high-quality fiber optic to electronic signal converters.
Responsibilities:
- Perform PCBA/component soldering.
- Attach connectors/ferrules using epoxy.
- Conduct connector/ferrule polishing and inspection.
- Clean optical components.
- Precisely align and bond optical components to electrical components following approved manufacturing procedures.
- Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and test fixtures.
- Test and assess optoelectronic modules to functional criteria.
- Maintain accurate records/documentation related to quality, work in progress, test results, and labor.
- Adhere to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies, QSR, and FDA regulations.
Qualifications:
- IPC Certification. (Soldering / Electronics Manufacturing)
- Great hand-eye coordination and dexterity skills for assembling small components under a microscope.
- Understanding of electrical assembly and test processes.
- 4+ years of related work experience desired.
- High school graduate or equivalent manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Accurate data collection/entry using electronic travelers.
