ZeroAvia’s powertrain development focuses on integrating hydrogen storage tanks, fuel cell systems, and electric motors, delivering a solution that will be not only without climate-impacting emissions but also cheaper to operate. The company’s hydrogen infrastructure team is seeking to deliver the hydrogen production and refueling ecosystem required to fuel the transition to emission-free aviation.

Role

The Electronics Design Engineer plays a critical role in defining the electrical system architecture based on requirements and technical capabilities. You will work in a variety of electronics design development, including part definition, schematic entry, PCB layout, embedded code generation, development testing/debugging, and verification.

The ideal candidate should possess multidisciplinary skills with a focus on power electronics and electronics hardware design. Additionally, you must have an understanding of EMC and EMI design mitigations and testing methodologies, and proficiency in using CAD tools such as Altium for schematic and layout generation.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate electronic circuit board solutions for aerospace application 
• Design highly integrated multilayer circuits with high-speed communication to operate within harsh environments and EMI
• Execute the design, analysis, and verification (temperature, EMI, vibration, etc.) 
• Provide technical support for electronics board troubleshooting including circuit card reworking to support system and aircraft integration.
• Maintain products across their functional lifecycle
• Electronics circuit schematic and PCB layout analysis to support design and verification.
• Electronics module commissioning and testing to verify system requirements.
• Own/support authoring, review, and release of technical documentation

Experience and Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or foreign degree equivalent 
• 4+ years of experience in designing and testing mixed signal electronics hardware for the automotive or aerospace industries 
• Understanding of requirement and functionality capture of high-voltage PCB design
• Experience with validation and testing of electrical/electronic components
• Skilled in programming languages including Embedded C, C++, Java, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or NI LabVIEW
• Working knowledge of one or more following CAD software: OrCAD, Allegro, PADS, Altium, DX Designer, Mathcad, LT Spice, or Jama 
• Working experience in DSP, FPGA, microcontrollers, and ASICs.
• Working experience with high-speed bus electronics design, including CAN, RS484, RS232
• Familiarity with designing to comply with EMI standards, including conducted and radiated emissions as specified in MIL-STD or DO-160G
• Hardware in the Loop and Software in the Loop experience

Pay Transparency Statement

The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $100k-160k. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:

• Bonus: Annual discretionary bonuses.
• Equity: Ability to exercise company stock options
• Retirement: Eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) Plan, with up to a 4% matching
• Health Insurance: Employer covers up to 80% of the employee's monthly premiums on medical, dental, and vision.
• Life Insurance: Basic Life/AD&D of up to $50,000 and the option to add on Supplemental Coverage.
• Short Disability: Up to 60% of your earnings for up to a period of 24 weeks.
• Long-Term Disability: If your disability extends beyond 180 days, LTD Coverage for up to 60% of your earnings.
• Paid Time Off: Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days).
• Sick Time: Eligible employees may accrue up to 40 hours, per year (5 days)
• Paid Holidays: 12 observed holidays, per calendar year.
