Job Summary:

In this role as a Electrification Test and Validation Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager and will be primarily responsible for applying reliable engineering methods to improve product reliability. You will implement and improve testing, development, and Validation techniques, processes, tooling, and machinery to maximize product quality. As a member of the Engineering team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:

  • Responsible for creation of system level Dfmeas, design of validation controls, and application of reliability engineering methods.

  • Apply reliability engineering methods to improve product reliability.

  • To determine reliability of systems that spans electrical product offerings such as charging, power electronics and base machine.

  • Develop new test of simulation protocols to accelerate the understanding of the cause of system and component failures. Analyze multiple sources of data: lab, field, and simulation to develop predictive life models for components and systems and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Champion the use and application of advanced reliability methods to resolve issues. Overall the validation engineer plays a crucial role in reducing post production warranty and improving customer experience.

• Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research.
• Approaches a complex problem by breaking it down into its component parts.
Technical Excellence : Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Advises others on the assessment and provision of all technical solutions.
• Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.
Product Testing : Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Collaborates with design team to ensure testing considerations are incorporated into system design.
• Compares and contrasts alternative testing methodologies and tools.
• Matches testing methodology and tools to product being tested; develops test scenarios and scripts.
• Estimates time, effort and resources required for thorough testing.
Education and experience requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, or Materials Science curriculum

  • 5+ years’ experience in various engineering roles

Top Candidates will also have:

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Tucson, AZ or Mossville, IL
