The plant electrician will be tasked with the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the electrical systems of the quarry while maintaining a safe culture environment. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations.
Responsibilities
- Perform all work safely and within MSHA and NEC standards.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment and power distribution throughout multiple plants.
- Respond to catastrophic outages/failures.
- Interpret electrical printouts, installation instructions, and work orders.
- Establish the appropriate procedures to locate and correct electrical problems and determine electrical component replacements.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems in power circuits rated at 110 - 480 volts, in control circuits of various voltages.
- Repair transformers and circuit breakers
- Install, inspect, and repair soft starts.
- Perform splices and terminations.
- Install and maintain power controls on equipment.
- Install and maintain plant lighting.
- Perform work area inspections.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, technical or vocational school certification or equivalent
- 3+ years of industrial electrical experience required.
- Knowledge of PLCs and VFDs
- Advanced knowledge of AC and DC power control voltages
- Must be able to read electrical schematics.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience with resolving electrical issues.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Proficient knowledge of MSHA safety requirements is preferred.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
