Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we're looking to add an Electrical Testing Intern located in our Northfield, MN site.
Reporting to the Design & Engineering Manager, the Intern will be assisting engineers and other team members with setting up prototype builds per specifications to include making design recommendations and testing.
What a typical day looks like:
- Fused Trace Study Abstract - under guidance from senior personnel, investigate the performance of designs & materials for etched copper fuses related to Automotive Electrification
- Define material set (mostly determined)
- Investigate various fuse shapes (several already defined - are more needed?)
- Coordinate and monitor additional prototype builds of new/updated/refined coupon designs
- Learn how to operate advanced features of a new power supply
- Determine number of samples to test and automate data collection (multiple test groups likely)
- Note & record all results and observations, perform statistical analysis, write and present a report with summary and conclusions
Student qualities we're seeking for this internship assignment:
- Jr/Sr undergrad student pursuing Electrical, Physics, or Mechanical Engineering degree
- Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
- Highly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills
- Previous internship experience in a factory setting a plus!
Intern Program Requirements:
- Available to work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week summer assignment
- Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
- 3.0 minimum GPA
