Electrical Test Engineer

Summary: Electrical Test Engineer with experience in electrical components, instrumentation & data collection equipment, and basic software programming needed for contract role.

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience

• Experience with electrical components (contactors, fuses, PCBs, connectors)

• Experience with instrumentation & data collection equipment

• Basic software programming experience

• Strong hands-on mechanical/electrical aptitude

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicle batteries (repair, assembly, reconditioning)

Responsibilities:

• Plan, conduct, document functional, performance, & durability tests at a whole vehicle and subsystem level on battery electric vehicles

• Perform tests for characterization, qualification, and reliability of contactors, fuses, PCBs, special connectors

• Determine if the component(s)/system(s) under evaluation are operating per the intended design criteria

• Select, calibrate and install correct instrumentation while ensuring data integrity

• Prepare control/data acquisition equipment; write drive scripts to automate sequences/cycles

• Collaborate on automation of Vehicle and Battery Management Systems (BMS) functional test setup

• Support and manage long term durability tests on the battery pack and/or vehicle structures

• Diagnose troubleshoot and repair issues found on units under test

• Enlist Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to aid in identifying root cause and corrective action

 

 

 

 

Pay Details: $40.00 to $54.00 per hour
