JOB SUMMARY: Electrical Superintendents coordinate and manage teams of electricians. Their responsibilities are assigning tasks, training staff, assuring quality, implementing safety procedures, making inspections and solving technical problems. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervised electricians, carpenters, labors and operators.
- Directed craft on daily activities to ensure equipment and materials were installed per design.
- Managed underground and surface electrical crews and provided daily work task instructions/schedule.
- Developed a database tracking program to monitor completion of work, and production rates.
- Installed, maintained, repaired and tested equipment for the generation and utilization of electric energy for commercial, medical, and industrial clients.
- Implemented energy-efficient solutions to save client’s utility costs.
- Performed general electrical repairs on client systems and equipment, ensuring adherence to code requirements.
- Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
- Read specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
- Estimate and order material and evaluate worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers.
- Confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and to coordinate activities.
- Record information such as personnel, production, and operational data on specified forms and reports.
- Assign work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose and inspect systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Work scheduled hours including overtime and weekends. Respond to and work when requested by management.
- Arrive on time and leave at the end of the shift.
- Follow safety rules and notify supervision or others when a safety hazard is observed.
- REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of commercial Construction Superintendent experience.
- Experience overseeing construction projects budgeted from $500K-10 million plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction management or related discipline preferred
- Possess strong initiative and effective organizational skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapports and interact with various levels of professionals.
- Good communication skills written and spoken English, preferably bilingual or some Spanish language knowledge.
- Ability to develop and maintain good business relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task projects simultaneously and prioritize workload.
- High standard of integrity and professionalism.
- Able to travel and work in the different Aireko office locations as required.
- Demonstrated experience working with MS Project & Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in electrical work.
- MUST be able to manage new construction projects, underground and site work.
- Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications to solve problems.
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing good customer service.
- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards - Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

- Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, Clients, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work - Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
