Salary: $95,000 - $120,000 Annually

Stronghold Engineering, Inc. an award winning Electrical, General and Civil Contractor is seeking a strong, experienced Electrical Superintendent


Summary

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Electrical Superintendent is responsible for managing, coordinating, scheduling, and directing the daily details of the construction project. This includes but is not limited to; coordination of the construction project with the Project Manager and assigned Estimator, project planning, project scheduling, project documentation, and overall on-site project coordination. Additionally, the Project Superintendent is responsible for the coordination of sub-contractors and the procurement of materials as directed. The Project Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager and Estimator to complete the project ahead of schedule and within budget. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Essential duties are those that an individual must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.


  • Attends preconstruction and construction meetings as directed.
  • Investigates conditions at the jobsite; understands and evaluates site accessibility, site underground conditions, and any general and special conditions that would affect construction methods and costs.                                                                                                                                                
  • Studies and understands the contract specifications, drawings, and associated scope of work requirements of the project before the project begins and during construction operations.
  • Oversees, motivates and evaluates field employees; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies.
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures and enforces that all proper safety procedures are followed on-site by all Stronghold employees and Stronghold subcontractors.
  • Documents and reports all safety incidents, immediately after occurrence, to the Corporate Safety Office, Project Manager and Human Resources Department.
  • Makes recommendations and assists in the hiring process for field employees. Makes recommendations for termination of field employees as needed.                                                          
  • Maintains organized documentation, specifications, daily reports, time-cards, and project drawings.                                                                                                                                               
  • Prepares Contract Progress Reports at various stages of the project and updates as necessary as the job progresses.                                                                
  • Acts as liaison and representative between Stronghold Engineering and client agencies and their personnel.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Controls the performance of all trade contractors with ongoing reviews of the architectural and engineering drawings to verify that all specifications are being followed.
  • Coordinates material deliveries and subcontract work in accordance with the contract schedule and monitors changes during the project in order to adjust deliveries and subcontractors work schedules as necessary.                                                                                                                                
  • Identifies and reports to the Project Manager any necessary plan modifications of the construction project.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager prepares periodic percent completion data reports; prepares data for monthly invoices and submits in a timely manner to the Stronghold Engineering, Inc. Accounting Department.
  • Prepares Daily Construction Progress Reports, providing copies to Stronghold clients, as needed, and to the Contracts Department on a weekly basis, at the end of each work week.
  • Completes employee weekly time cards, ensuring employees are properly reporting and recording their hours worked and ensuring that employees are properly classified, according to the work they are performing on-site.                                                
  • Maintains good customer and subcontractor relations.                                
  • Maintains accurate communications between the field and office.
  • Monitors and adheres to all Stronghold Engineering, Inc., local, state, and federal safety regulations at company job sites.                                                                                
  • Presents self in a professional manner, provides open and honest communication, and demonstrates respect to co-workers and customers.
  • Prepares special reports and correspondence as requested by Project Manager.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Education / Certificates / Licenses

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid California Driver’s License with clean driving record.

 

Experience

  • 5 + years’ experience supervising the completion of construction projects, ideally Federal or Public Works Projects.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to work in a productive manner independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of all equipment and tools being used in the construction field.
  • Efficient computer skills and proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in a written form.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to computer rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand plans, specifications, construction cost data and other contract document to identify any errors, omissions, code violations and design inadequacies.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction.

 

Working Conditions

  • While performing the essential functions of this job directly on a construction project, the employee is frequently exposed to: dust, noise, chemicals and solvents.  Exposure to power equipment.
  • Employee will be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
  • Depending upon project requirements, working conditions may include working in confined spaces and/or working with heights.


Physical Demands

  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to: carry supplies, reach, use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials and manipulating things, bend, stretch, balance, walk, stoop, push, pull and climb.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The starting annual base wage for this position is between USD $95,000 - $120,000.  The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training/education, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.  The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
