For more than 50 years, JG Blackmon & Associates has been providing mission critical solutions in the Carolinas. Our experienced staff supports our customers’ mission critical projects through design, sales and support of critical system components.
We are currently looking for an Electrical Sales Engineerwho will sell critical power products offered by the company to new and existing customers. Critical power products include UPS systems, power distribution systems, power protection, monitoring and other specialized products.
Job Description:
Purpose: To develop both new customer relationships and to maintain the loyalty of existing customers for our critical power products manufactured by Vertiv/Liebert and others. The SE will support customers by providing application expertise, submittals, proposals, on-site evaluations and accurate order information. The SE will be a strong technical resource and trusted advisor to their manufacturing partners, colleagues and customers within their assigned territory.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
- Covers an assigned territory consisting of Charlotte and several surrounding counties.
- Supports an assigned list of contractors, consulting engineers and end-users.
- Communicates with customers to identify and understand their needs; identifies and suggests products to meet those needs.
- Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
- Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products and enhancements that may be of interest.
- Works alongside other sales team members for team sales opportunities or expansion of customer lines.
- Helps develop and support customer marketing events.
- Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong electrical knowledge.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Organized with good attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience:
- Sales and presentation experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a technical sales role is preferred.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related degree encouraged.
Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in U.S.
- Be willing to travel to customer sites within assigned territory and occasional trips to manufacturers or other locations.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass employment screenings.
Compensation:
- Initial compensation is salary plus commission with eventual transfer to 100% commission.
