Additional Information:
This position will primarily serve as the Electrical Unit's A Tour Supervisor and will oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the Electric Shop on the aeronautical field during nightly closures. As such, the successful candidate for this position will work a set 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM schedule (A Tour) from Sunday night - Thursday night.
Candidate must be able to pass a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check as mandated by 49 CFR 1542 and will be required to obtain and maintain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) credential with Airfield (Movement Area - DR2) driving and escort privileges. SIDA access and airfield driving, and escort privileges require a valid driver's license, SIDA training and successful completion of a SIDA test and airfield movement area check ride.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Chief Maintenance Supervisor, the selected candidate will be responsible for supervising the activities of skilled journey men in the maintenance and repair of LGA Airports' electrical systems which include and are not limited to: The incumbent will ensure that the runway and taxiway lights are optimal and conform to FAA FAR 139 certifications. The incumbent will also perform airfield inspections and walk-throughs, update Maximo and the Maintenance Management Information System as well as attend meetings related to the runway and taxiway rehabilitation projects, this may require the selected candidate to work on an overtime basis as a regular function of the job. At times the selected candidate will be required to respond to and remediate electrical abnormalities and/or preform Electrical Maintenance for Port Authority Buildings and Parking Lots/Garages, Fire Alarm systems, Low voltage Distribution systems, Signs and Street Traffic Lighting systems, etc. The successful applicant must be able to effectively plan, schedule, control maintenance projects and routines. Must be able to respond to declared emergencies, including snow conditions, and work on an overtime basis as a regular function of the job required.

Qualifications:
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
- Must have three (3) years of industrial/commercial, and residential electrical experience.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required.
- All applicants that meet the above qualifications must also be qualified on a Port Authority Entry-Level Assessment (ESA) test.
Desired:
Ideal candidates will present the following profile:
- Knowledge of National and local Electrical Codes
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of fixed and portable electrical generators
- Knowledge of electrical tools, equipment, work methods and terminology of the electrical field
- Understanding of safety practices common to the Electrical trade
- Experience evaluating contract drawings and specification blueprints to identify associated impacts on the facilities and ability to recommend alternatives
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of Aeronautical Runways and Taxiways lighting systems, as well as familiarity of FAR 139
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of Fire Protection and Life Safety systems
- Knowledge of Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance requirements for Fire Protection and Life Safety systems (FPLS)
- Extensive knowledge of PC programs and applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SAP, Budget Pro, MMIS and Maximo
- Knowledge of general operating policies and procedures, especially those related to administration, labor relations and the ability to interpret union agreements
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and collaborative skills, and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external staff
- Demonstrated performance in a lead electrician capacity
- Computer skills in the use of spreadsheets, word processing
- Knowledge and experience maintaining and repairing traffic light systems, street lighting and low voltage distribution systems.
- Previous supervisory experience in a lead capacity.
