JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
This purpose of this position is to support aircraft-flight test instrumentation design, fabrication, installation and potentially operations from an electrical engineering perspective. The modification of the aircraft for flight test instrumentation will require wire harness, data bus, PCB, and LRU, designs as well as camera and other sensor placement integrated designs with the existing airframe and production electrical power and data bus components.
Ideal candidate will:
- Have a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- AutoCAD experience
- Previous electrical powerload analysis experience utilizing classical hand calculation
- Have the ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products
- Have the ability to occasionally work independently and in a team environment with provided direction
- Be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Secret clearance (TS clearance or previous SAP clearance preferred)
- Aircraft mod experienceprivate sector or military
- Networking TCP/IP systems experience
- RF and telemetry experience
- Hardware programming experience via HyperTerminal
- Flight test operations experience
- Aircraft Data Digital Bus experience (1553/ARINC 429)
- EMI/EMC plus filtering, shielding grounding experience
- Power Load Analysis experience
- Power and signal conditioning experience
- PCB Layout and Design experience
- Military grade/specification type electrical connectors
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 2 years of related engineering experience or an accredited Master of Science in engineering are required for this position.
In addition, an Engineer II must possess the following qualifications:
- Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles
- Familiarity with related engineering fields
- Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions
- Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools
- Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $67,392 to $104,000 annually.

JT4 LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Routine travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
