The CNS Traffic Surveillance Group in Melbourne, Florida is seeking to fill a part time Electrical Engineering Intern position for summer/fall of 2024.  Collins Aerospace designs, integrates, and certifies commercial avionics products for the Air Transport and Business and Regional aircraft markets. This role will be part of the team developing the next generation of TCAS and Transponder avionics product, working with a small group of hardware engineers. 

The primary responsibility for this position will be to participate in both new development and product sustaining projects on our Transponder and TCAS Products.  The duties include electrical design, analysis and simulation, schematic entry, board level test and debug.  Applicant must be self-motivated, self-disciplined, with good communications skills, and a demonstrated ability to work within a multifunctional, multidiscipline team.

This role is based out of our Melbourne, FL site location. May be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design analog and digital board level circuitry to meet requirements per established guidelines under supervision of an experienced engineer
• Analyze and simulate design to ensure operation over component tolerance and operating extremes
• Perform schematic entry for PCB layout
• Write hardware design documents and board level test plans
• Debug boards using standard tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and emulators
• Analyze and interpret measured data
• Assisting with the preparations and execution of flight testing of TCAS products

Basic Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of circuit design
• Students should be at junior or senior status by Summer 2024

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
