Position: Electrical Engineer (UAS) – Unmanned Aerial Systems
Location: Irvine, CA – Onsite Required

We have an exciting opportunity for Electrical Engineer - Unmanned Aerial Systems to join our team.
Position Description:
DZYNE Technologies is looking to add an Electrical Engineer to the team who will be able to take ownership of a task or project, build derived requirements, understand the vehicle systems of existing platforms, and integrate new solutions meeting customer needs. This is done through spoken and written presentations, drawings, and procedures. This job also requires a person who is detail orientated, has ability to learn fast, and can communicate to customers and teammates alike.
Required Skills:
  • Understanding of some basic autonomous aircraft subsystems, i.e. GPS, AHRS/INS, Autopilots, Actuators, etc.
  • Navigate Electrical Schematics, Block Diagrams, Wire Harnesses, Product Documentation, and Datasheet Documentation
  • Ability to apply Electrical Engineering knowledge to create and communicate design intent via electrical schematics, block diagrams, wire harness drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Basic understanding of Mechanical design
  • Excellent fundamentals of electrical components
  • Excellent knowledge of electronics debugging and tools (i.e. Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Electronic Loads, and other similar lab tools)
  • Demonstrable troubleshooting experience
  • Comfortable working with advanced subsystems requiring specific configuration, setup, and testing
  • Able to work in cross functional teams across engineering and manufacturing
  • Excellent written and oral communication (English) and presentation skills
Ideal candidate would have:
  • Experience with RC aircraft/UAV
  • Experience with Ethernet, CAN bus, and Networking principals
  • Experience with RF devices
  • Formal DO, MIL-STD, Automotive, Environmental/EMI, or high reliability testing experience
  • Experience/Proficiency with Software interfaces for configuring and/or setting up embedded computing equipment (i.e. system on module)
  • Proficient with Altium Designer
  • Proficient with Microsoft Tools
  • Experience with JIRA, JAMA, Confluence or similar project tools
  • Experience with version tracking software such as SolidWorks PDM, Git, Subversion, etc.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent or 10+ years of equivalent relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 3+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex electronics system and products
Clearance Level Required: No Security Clearance is required, but it is highly desired.
Travel Required: Some travel may be required up to two weeks per quarter

The diversity of work conditions may range from a general office environment to warehouse or light fabrication shop.

Salary: $82k - $161k
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
