The Electrical Engineer role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills as well as the ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and shift priorities on the go. The successful candidate will be well organized, comfortable in a dynamic environment, have strong attention to detail, and can synthesize and conceptualize complex ideas.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to E&A equipment, such as PLCs, drives, etc., utilizing lean manufacturing techniques.
- Create contract specifications for E&A projects regarding maximal safety, minimal downtime and optimal performance and life span of machines.
- Evaluate automated equipment, processes and solve automated equipment problems. Review related manuals, blueprints, & schematic diagrams to determine tasks to be performed.
- Define the (E&A) norms for the plant (PLC, HMI, Hardware, etc.).
- Define the network layout for process networks and the interface to the plant network in cooperation with IT.
- Provide and maintain a back-up system for the automation software (PLC and PC) for the plant.
- Maintain the integrity of engineering drawings files, projects, prepare and/or modify electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years heavy industrial (power and control) experience (required).
- Three years minimum of related experience in Electrical Engineering (required).
- FE/PE (preferred), licensable (required).
- Power distribution design (15KV and below) (coordination studies, Arc Flash analysis and detail design).
- Controls, instrumentation design, PLC/HMI programming (Rockwell, GE, Modicon, Wonderware).
- Field start-up and troubleshooting (highly preferred).
- Desired Education and Skills: BS in Electrical Engineering (highly preferred).
