POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Manager will plan, organize, control and direct the performance of routine and preventive maintenance by maintenance technicians and also perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting & improvement project activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
Responsible for the maintenance and timely repair of all plant and facility equipment, including but not limited to seed processing machines, forklifts, drying and air conditioning units, office plumbing, lighting etc.
Develop and implement both preventive and predictive maintenance programs to cover all equipment, buildings, pool vehicles and site.
Coordination of maintenance activities with other plant operations.
Coordinate and schedule manpower and materials to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time.
Maintain all facility and equipment records.
Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies.
Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing coverage during plant operational hours.
Develop and implement procedures to ensure spare parts availability and control of assets is maintained.
Identify and ensure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are corrected and addressed.
Control the ongoing repair and period maintenance budgets in line with the fiscal plan. Implement cost reductions to offset negative or unplanned variance to the fiscal plan.
Assist and teach maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and mean time to repair
Design and oversee the fabrication and manufacturing of equipment for production needs and ensure such fabrication/manufacturing s in accordance with safety regulations.
Assisting in preparing capital project bids and participate in CAPEX and MTP with Plant Manager.
Team Management
Ensures strict adherence to safety procedures and critical facility work rules. Must be familiar with proper chemical handling procedures, local codes, cooling systems, chillers and boilers. Proper handling of hazardous waste, chemicals and SDS documents. Must have knowledge of safe work practices and LOTO procedures.
Maintains Department staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains Department staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Develop maintenance team through external training plan.
Perform an active role in the Emergency evacuation and Facility Safety team.
Supervisory responsibilities: Depending on department, total direct and indirect reports: 2 to 15
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in technical or engineering preferred or equivalent
3 - 5 years Maintenance & Management experience
Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills required.
Experience in Computer maintenance management system (CMMS) preferred.
Strong organizational skills.
Leadership and management experience required.
Team building skills to lead maintenance team and drive results.
Forklift experience.
Computer literacy needed to work with software packages such as Excel, Word and Power Point.
Knowledge of high and low VAC and DC circuitry
Knowledge of PLC's would be beneficial.
Financial knowledge would be beneficial.
