We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join our Digital Water Team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Senior Controls Engineer and will perform instrumentation and controls design activities associated with a variety of municipal water and wastewater projects. This position is reserved for individuals that can demonstrate an ability to work independently, successfully adhering to project standards while adhering to delivery schedules and budgets on multiple simultaneous projects.
Your Role
- Instrumentation and Controls systems planning and design
- Develop detailed: P&IDs, network diagrams, PLC panel layouts, and field instrument list
- Perform field investigation, start-up, and troubleshooting of control systems
- Prepare project-specific technical specifications, using CSI Master Format
- Meet project schedules and perform work within budgetary constraints
- Prepare status reports, basis-of-design descriptions, project manuals, responses to client comments, memoranda of understanding, and other project-related documentation
- Mentor and train less experienced staff
- Provide construction administration support including review of construction submittals for compliance with project documents, response to contractor requests for information (RFI's), and inspection of completed work for compliance with construction documents
- Participate in and oversee control system testing and commissioning
- Accurately estimate I&C construction costs at various levels of project development
Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years of experience in a consulting engineering role
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, from an ABET-accredited program
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a required;
- Ability to work in project teams on large projects, effectively working with engineering staff
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- In-depth understanding of the following codes and standards as they relate to water and wastewater: NFPA, IEEE, and ISA;
- Experience with PLC and HMI programming software (RSLogix, iFIX, Wonderware, VT SCADA, etc.) is a plus
- Experience in the design of control systems for various water and wastewater projects
- Valid unrestricted driver's license
Salary Range: $94,000 - $120,000, depending on experience.
