The position provides Electrical Engineering and controls expertise to sustain a quality and safety driven organization with a high demand product. The primary role is supporting the factory productivity and the continued improvements projects to the PLC program. Additionally, to bring technical guidance to maintenance personnel and coordinate outside contractors'
services.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Electrical Engineering Degree from accredited university, preferably a B. S. Electrical Engineering
• Experience in programming automation controls
• Ability to apply math, science, and other engineering knowledge to solve real world problems and develop
robust technical solutions
• Display excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Manage time effectively by understanding assignment requirements, prioritizing objectives, and scheduling
tasks accordingly
• Ability to learn and grow personal knowledge and capabilities to deliver expected results
• Ability to meet fast paced deadlines while maintaining quality designs
• Willingness and aptitude to learn/support GE, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems
• Ability to collaborate with multiple functional groups including: HSE, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams
• Demonstrate a positive and mature attitude
Responsibilities:
• Create robust and reliable electrical system designs in support of manufacturing processes
• Programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI & drives logic (GE, SIEMENS, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
• Programming data acquisition systems (SIEMENS & General Electric)
• Select, install, and set up instrumentation equipment
• Develop and document designs
• Influence project direction based on analysis and understanding of project facts
• Implement new electrical technology, techniques, and concepts to enable functionality, simplify designs, improve reliability, and reduce overall manufacturing costs
• Troubleshoot electrical system failures and implement resolutions to prevent recurrence
• Present designs, projects, etc. to the Engineering, Operations, and the Management teams
• Train and support maintenance Technicians
• Participate as an active member of the Columbus Electrical Safety Team
