Major Duties:
- Project Design, Development, and Engineering:
- You'll be our go-to specialist for Electrical Engineering, handling a diverse range of challenging projects independently.
- Your tasks will involve determining Electrical Engineering requirements, creating project scopes, contract drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- You'll also assist in shaping our maintenance management program policies and guidelines in the electrical/electronics field.
Engineering Management and Coordination:
- Dive into the exciting world of coordinating electrical equipment and installation drawings alongside architectural, mechanical, and structural engineers to ensure smooth project progress.
- Your knack for problem-solving will come in handy as you resolve technical issues and interface problems with other subsystems or major equipment categories.
Liaison:
- Be the trusted advisor on all matters related to electrical installations and practices, providing valuable insights to utility firms, industry representatives, and government officials.
- Negotiate contract changes with contractors to ensure quality construction while keeping costs in check.
Qualifications:
- Mastery of the concepts, principles, and practices of Electrical Engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of related fields, such as architectural, mechanical, and structural engineering.
- Ability to apply a depth of knowledge of electrical theory and principles, along with DoD program requirements, operations, and policies.
- Expertise in power and illumination fields, with the ability to integrate new approaches and techniques into designs.
- Skill in oral and written communication to effectively present and defend engineering evaluation findings and conclusions.
- Ability to work with a variety of technical and professional people to produce a finished product effectively and efficiently.
- Knowledge of the Federal procurement process, particularly contract administration and negotiation.
- Physically capable of conducting surveys and inspections, including walking considerable distances, climbing ladders, entering confined spaces, and wearing personal protective equipment.
- Willingness to work in various environments, including office settings and fieldwork locations with potential exposure to hazards such as high-noise levels, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and electrical shock.
