Electrical Engineer
Location: Macon, Georgia
Job Summary:
An Electrical Engineer will be responsible for performing, directing and supervising all aspects of Electrical Engineering on multi-discipline building design projects of moderate to large scope for commercial and government facilities.
You Have:
- 4+ years of significant design and practice experience
- Experience in federal, state, municipal, healthcare, commercial, higher education, or similar projects
- Graduate of an ABET-accredited 4 or 5-year engineering program in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering Technology
- Professional Engineer License
- LEED AP accreditation preferred
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD), or Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP), certifications are desirable
- Additional certifications such as CDT, CCS, or CCCA are encouraged
- Active participation in IEEE, IES or other related professional organizations is desirable
You Will:
- Perform all aspects of Electrical Engineering design as a lead engineer, including Conceptual Studies, Program Requirements, Design Analyses, Calculations, Equipment selection and layout, and System selection and layout for building design and site electrical utilities
- Meet with clients (internal and external) to prepare and/or validate the proposed scope of services
- Direct and supervise the work of EITs or Designers assigned to the project, particularly where engineering judgment on the part of the EIT/Designer is exercised and unusual or difficult problems are encountered
- Perform and supervise electrical construction phase services including representing the firm on-site, answering RFI’s, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings.
- Work with, responding to, and taking direction from Project Managers, Managing Principals, Design Principals, Department Directors, Department Head, and senior management
- Participate in team meetings and coordinate efforts with other team members
- Preparing scope and fee proposals for the electrical portion of multi-discipline projects or single-discipline, electrical-only projects
- Conduct project code analysis for review by the discipline Lead Engineer
- Selection and layout of the building's electrical systems, including consideration of alternative systems
- Preparing accurate, complete, and code-compliant drawings and specifications for schematic, design development, and construction document submittals.
- Develop details of electrical system components
- Reviewing calculations and work products produced by EIT/Designer assigned to the project
- Reviewing all work products produced by support staff assigned to the project
