Job Purpose:
Design, document and implement electrical/electro mechanic assemblies for low voltage power distribution equipment and control products. Perform a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design electrical/electro-mechanical assemblies for customer orders and new product lines – a joint effort with Product Design Engineering, Marketing, Product Management and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Design of control panels and related assemblies for power distribution systems, custom applications, and new product lines.
- Creation of product documentation including assembly drawings and schematic diagrams; test and adjustment data; and descriptions of operation.
- Design of PLC based control products for small scale control applications.
- Provide assistance to manufacturing for assembly, testing and adjustment of products and sub-assemblies.
- Working with a variety of technicians.
- Releasing projects to manufacturing by assembling bill of materials, generating electrical schematics and point to point interconnects.
- Perform onsite testing and start up electrical power equipment.
- Provide onsite training to end user personnel.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines, specific customer requirements, industry standards and goals in time sensitive situations.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve design problems.
- Evaluate shop drawings and design comments for sound engineering practice and conformance with established design criteria.
- Collaborate with shop floor to observe conditions impacting design and to identify solutions that arise during construction.
- Develop part and assembly drawings of Power Distribution Equipment.
- Ensure designs are in compliance with all relevant project specifications and standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
In order to excel in this position, the following qualification is required:
- B.S. or B.A. in electrical engineering.
- 3 - 5 years of Electrical Design experience
- The design of electrical power distribution systems.
- The use and knowledge of codes and standards relating to electrical equipment installation and design.
- The design of controls for power distribution equipment.
- The creation of electrical power and control circuit schematics, wire runs lists, and mechanical assemblies.
- The creation and maintenance of bills of material in an MRP environment
- Proficient experience in using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Hands-on in control engineering, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in industrial environments
- Thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts involved in power systems, circuit design and protective relaying applications.
Salary Range:$80 - 100k per year
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
