                                           The Material Lead is responsible for :

 

Receiving

  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the Receiving personnel are physically handling all transactions within the company’s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software system and other required documentation/ logging activities related to the receipt of all incoming materials and items from outside sources into the company’s inventory asset storerooms or expensed locations while adhering to the Materials Department goals and objectives.
  • Assists as required in coordinating with Quality to ensure that routine, incoming inspections of manufacturing materials and any special inspection requirements are performed in a timely manner by the assigned Receiving personnel. 
  • Responsible for the proper return-to-vendor transactions and proper material handling to return the material to the vendor within the guidelines established by the Materials Department and monitors the goals for processing days for RMA’s.
  • Responsible for monitoring the receipt, transaction, and proper routing of customer product returns within the guidelines of the company’s returned material authorization system by Receiving personnel. 
  • Aids as needed with transaction history investigations pertaining to receiving accuracy discrepancies.

Inventory Control

  • Responsible for ensuring the orderly physical storage and maintenance of accurate documentation (within the company’s ERP software system) of inventory within the company’s inventory storerooms, including MS (main stores), FG (finished goods), MR (discrepant material review), and RA (returned goods).
  • Reviews all entries of inventory transactions as required into the company’s ERP systems to accurately record the movement of materials within the company and between storerooms. 
  • Performs periodic physical inventories and/or maintenance of a cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy and reporting on same.
  • Ensures Kit integrity is maintained through monitoring the day-to-day requirements to support the manufacturing build schedule. Be aware of the processing time goals set by Materials Department for Kit processing.
  • Assist with all inventory variance investigations as required.

Shipping

  • Responsible for coordinating and prioritizing the orderly physical handling, required packaging and safe movement of intermediate and finished product, deciding with shipping companies and accurate order fulfillment and other inventory transactions into the company’s ERP system related to the shipment of materials and products to external suppliers and customers. 
  • Manages logistics suppliers and develops proficiency with on-site shipping software systems.  Ensures that training is provided to all employees working in the shipping area.
  • Coordinates closely with Quality to ensure that special final inspections are performed in a timely manner prior to receipt into FG storerooms or final shipment to customers. 
  • Assists with transaction history investigations pertaining to shipping transaction accuracy discrepancies.  As well as inventory discrepancies or inquires in Finished Goods.
  • Provides accurate shipment documentation such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, shipper’s export declarations, shippers letters of instruction, dangerous goods declarations, and any other transportation related documentation. Monitors the entire shipping flow of orders and product.

Leadership 

  • Responsible for providing direction to temporary and full-time hourly employees performing or assisting in one or more of the job functions described above. 
  • Provides input for activities related to the hiring and performance appraisal of employees. 
  • Assists in the development of training plans for new hires and existing temporary and regular employees and for providing or coordinating documented training per the training plan.  This training includes dangerous goods training, forklift certification, customs documentation, and other warehouse or transportation related training as required.
  • All other duties as assigned

Housekeeping

  • Responsible for maintaining the neat and orderly appearance of the company’s inventory storage and warehouse areas. 
  • Provides input and assists in the implementation of efficiency improvements in all warehouse functions.  Reviews and assists in revising procedures related to warehouse activities to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Company Support

  • Responsible for providing support to company employees pertaining to the movement of production and non-production related materials.  This includes providing assistance regarding shipping and receiving tradeshow materials, shipment requests, etc.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Minimum 5 years hands on experience in the movement of materials within a manufacturing production environment. 
  • Experience working within a rigorous, quality control environment such as FDA cGMP/QSR or ISO. 
  • A strong team player with the demonstrated abilities and willingness to coordinate, assist and direct the day-to-day tasks (from menial to analytical) within a dynamic Warehouse environment, and to support overall goals established for the area. 
  • Experienced with software-based inventory management systems- specific experience with Microsoft Dynamics software a plus. 
  • Forklift operation certification a plus.
  • Must be available to work overtime on weekdays and weekends as required by management and as workload dictates.

As required by law, Bausch Health provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in the US. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For this role, the range of starting pay for this role is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour.
