Job Description
Job summary: Work hands on designing and creating electrical deisgns for ACT's wide variety of PLC controlled custom machines.
Position responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Engineering Department to understand each project or system sequence of operation.
- Create 2D panel drawings to support our internal electrical panel build shop; AutoCAD
- Create accurate BOM's for each project using ACT live inventory and supplement for all custom aspects of the projects.
- Oversee the ACT Panel Shop to train, mentor, and motivate personnel to complete machine control panels on schedule.
- Oversee system wiring in Assembly and troubleshoot to allow for smooth PLC integration and testing on schedule.
- Learn to use Codesys or RS Logix software, or other software as needed, and HMI screen design software, to correctly control ACT custom machines for each unique project within 6 months or less of training commencing
- Leran to create the ladder logic, load all programs, and then fully test and debug your work for smooth system start-up and functionality within 6 months or less of traning commencing
- Learn to Set up sensors, VFD's, and other devices to operate per the project and customer requirements.
- Document all work in ACT's secure network
- Learn to provide screen shots, with instructional aids, to other company personnel tasked with the creation of technical manuals.
- Plan on staying late or coming in on Saturday to catch up on pressing work requirements. Minimum 50-hours per week.
- Requirements
- Verifiable 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or customer service role as ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ENGINEER
- Degree in Elecrical Engineering or equal experience in engaged in the same or similar electrical design work.
- Knowledge of PLC's and ladder logic at least at a basic level with IFM Effector, Allen Bradley, or other popular brands such as IDEC, and Siemens.
- Clean driving record and no felonies that would bar entry into federal facilities.
- Must be able to climb a ladder, work standing for extended periods of time, and lift 50-lbs.
- Employ superior thinking and comprehension skills to contribute to producing the best work possible in the least amount of time in a results driven playing field. Be able to self-manage your time according to build schedules.
