Who We Need
We are expanding our EHS team and seeking to add an entry/junior level EHS Safety Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company not only with over a half-century of stability and success, but a company on the move with plans for the next generation. You will have a front row seat in helping our EHS team achieve world class status.
You will maintain accurate metrics within corporate based systems and report findings to management teams. These metrics support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal & state laws. You will also conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions, recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.
You must be willing to work off-shift occasionally to support all working shifts. Together over time, we will develop and expand your skillset and responsibilities.
Your Education will include:
- Bachelor of Science degree in EHS or related field
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
Basic Qualifications include:
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
- Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personal employee information
Preferred Qualifications:
- 0 to 3 years’ related experience (preferably in an industrial environment)
- Experience in emergency response and currently holds EMT or First Aid, CPR/AED, and BBP certification
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Professional Safety Certification (e.g. ASP, GSP)
- Experience leading and managing a team to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses
- Knowledge in NFPA standards/code
- Knowledge in ANSI and other regulatory safety standards
What YOU Can Do For Us
- Supporting management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws
- Recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics, PPE assessments, and engineering control solutions
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, proper use of fire prevention equipment, use of protective clothing and devices, and availability of first aid supplies
- Assisting in investigation of injuries and near misses
- Recommending and following up on implementation of corrective actions
- Performing audits and inspections to determine compliance with regulations and procedures
- Assisting in preparation for safety committee meetings and maintaining records/minutes
- Provide safety training to employees and contractors
- Assist in tracking, recording and supporting Workman’s Compensation cases
- Other duties as assigned
