Efg Underwriter I

Decisions transactions up to $250,000 for credit applications for loans and leases secured by equipment used for business purposes according to Policy and Procedure/Underwriting standards. Makes independent credit decisions (within lending authority) and evaluates risk based on credit applications, business/personal credit reports, public records, financial statements and borrowing references in a timely and accurate manner. Reviews and approves Sources/Dealers/Vendors supplying equipment to be financed. Prepares and presents credit approval summaries (that exceed lending authority) to the credit manager or other senior credit officers within EFG. Utilizes strong time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities__________________________________

1. Analyzes, approves or declines applications for business loans and leases less than $250,000 utilizing commercial/consumer credit reports, financial statements, bank statements, etc.

2. Approves or rejects credit applications and records exceptions per policy and procedures.

3. Analyzes and research multiple lease/loan requests at a time.

4. Communicates with various departments and syndication partners.

5. Uses sound judgment in applying guidelines and standards to the credits reviewed to evaluate risks.

6. Assesses the collateral to be financed per policy and procedure when rendering a credit decision

7. Communicates underwriting decisions to the EFG Sales representative and explains the reasons behind the decisions.

8. Knows, understands and adheres to all the procedures for compliance and regulations.

9. Completes any reports required.

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___________________________

1. Bachelor's degree in a Business related field of study or equivalent and five (5) years of financial industry experience are required.

2. Proficient reading, writing, grammar, analytical, mathematical, communication and interpersonal relation skills required.

3. Requires computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

4. May be eligible for Telecommuting.
