Position Summary
Join our team as an integral part of the Education Specialist's (ES) support system, contributing to the excellence of our Head Start education services. You will play a crucial role in fostering a comprehensive, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for each child's holistic growth.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the ES to manage all facets of education services in alignment with Head Start regulations, Centro's School Readiness Goals, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in early childhood education, including assessments and screening instruments.
- Assist the ES in providing ongoing training, mentorship, and technical expertise to our dedicated teaching staff. Contribute to creating tailored in-service training plans.
- Work with the ES, Area Manager, and HR to ensure education personnel meet Head Start credentialing requirements.
- Support the ES in developing and updating staff development plans, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate on reviewing weekly activity plans, ensuring alignment with the School Readiness Plan and incorporating diverse nutrition, health, and safety activities.
- Aid in conducting, aggregating, and analyzing data from seasonal assessments, assisting in presenting results at parent meetings.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of children's paper and electronic files, actively participating in case reviews.
- Play a key role in coordinating child transitions within the center team.
- Monitor daily completion of Health and Safety checklists by teachers.
- Update and manage the lending library inventory, delivering items to classrooms as needed.
- Maintain a seamless flow of information between teaching and support staff, facilitating meetings and attending necessary sessions.
- Support the ES in ensuring compliance with Head Start standards for home visits and parent/teacher conferences, actively participating when required.
- Embrace additional duties as assigned.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or higher in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field.
- Experience working with children aged birth through 5 years and adults.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Physical resilience for extended periods of sitting or standing, ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform actions associated with caring for young children.
