The Editorial Assistant, Justice Programs, is a junior associate that supports consulting projects by providing technical writing and editing support and creating compelling presentations and deliverables. They have outstanding communications skills, great attention to detail, and are interested in criminal justice. This position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience and a readiness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic mission environment.

Hybrid Work Environment: Arc Aspicio is currently operating in a hybrid work environment where employees work at client sites, the Arc Aspicio DC office, and remotely. Candidates must live in the Washington, DC area on their start date, ready to work with their team.
Responsibilities      

  • Support consulting projects in a dynamic environment, collaborating with team members and clients on fast-paced projects and provides outstanding deliverables
  • Writes, edits, and structures complex documents and applies excellent editing and document management best practices to support outstanding work products
  • Creates and edits presentations to provide compelling presentations to clients
  • Support workstreams, lead and support deliverables, and promote continuous improvement
  • Love to learn complex mission areas in law enforcement
  • Develop consulting skills and help grow the company outside of your project by participating in new business and strategic initiatives
  • Contribute towards our learning culture, where people put team, client, and company interest ahead of their own, by demonstrating interest in supervising and supporting the growth of others
  • Take advantage of company opportunities to develop leadership and consulting skills and thrive in a fast growth environment

Required Qualifications      

  • 3+ years of technical writing and editing
  • Experience in a justice or law enforcement environment preferred
  • Excellent experience in writing, editing, and formatting documents in Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent skills in strategic communications and ability to create compelling presentations and communicate with stakeholders
  • Ability to edit documents and make valuable contributions to make them compelling and useful for senior decision makers
  • Experience with program performance measures
  • Interest in collaborating with a large team with a focus on emergency management and homeland security
  • Ability to create and apply style guides to documents for senior-level clients
  • Strong interest in working in a consulting firm and entrepreneurial spirit 
  • Enthusiasm to collaborate with others and get involved in company events and special projects
  • Desire to join a company and team and stay for the long-term, gaining more leadership and supervisory responsibility
  • Excellent work ethic in a dynamic, complex, and challenging environment and self-motivated with the ability to take on more responsibility quickly
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively remotely and in-person
  • Proven to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership potential
  • Technological savvy with Microsoft products and use of collaboration tools (SharePoint preferred) 
  • Ability to focus and pay attention to detail while remaining focused on a strategic, big picture
  • Clearance: U.S. Citizenship only (no dual citizenship)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Critical Skills: Entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, resilience, loves to learn, excited to engage and build relationships
