Position Overview:
Affinity Plus is excited to kick-off our 2024 Summer Internship Program. This program will provide Interns with the opportunity to work within their area of career focus while interacting with teams to expand organizational knowledge. We are seeking a highly motivated intern to work within our Enterprise Digital Intelligence (EDI) Team. In this position, the intern will build advanced data models and create a base simulation space, which will allow for artificial intelligence (AI) simulations to help predict future performance of products and services. The intern will have an opportunity to collaborate with a team of data scientists and work independently, gaining an introduction to AI within an organization through the internship project.

What we are seeking in an intern:
- Currently pursuing a degree in a related field, such as Computer Science
- Experience in data modeling and familiarity with simulation techniques (i.e. Monte Carlo, Markovian)
- Knowledge of statistical MS Tools, statistical programming languages (R, Python) data access, transformational tools (SQL)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with people across the organization.
- Ability to primarily work remotely and travel to Saint Paul, MN as needed for collaborative work, meetings and events.
- Aptitude to work independently as well as part of a team and ability to collaborate with others
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload based on department and project needs
- Flexibility to adapt and succeed in a dynamic environment
Workplace Environment:
- Sitting 90-95% and standing 5-10%
- Working at a computer 98% of the day
- Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, or crouching when appropriate, on occasion
- Repetitive movements, including but not limited to typing, using a mouse, phones, etc.
- Lift, carry, push or pull up to approximately up to 20 pounds with or without accommodations
Required Work Schedule:
Primarily Monday through Friday business hours with a willingness to explore a flexible work schedule as needed.
This internship will be from June 3rd, 2024 - August 9th, 2024 and offers the option to work mostly remote with occasional on-site days required for meetings, collaboration, and other events in St. Paul, MN. The intern should be located in Minnesota or Wisconsin for the duration of the internship.
