POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Science Intern will utilize knowledge of databases and business processes to interpret and analyze data. The Data Science Intern will export, merge, and format data from various sources. They will be responsible to ensure adherence to compliance, legal regulations, and policies on all projects managed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauers Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

1. Data cleanse & update of thousands of records in multiple tables in 3 major databases.
2. Build customer table to live in SQL which will be used for regularly scheduled imports into Microsoft Dynamics CRM applications.
3. Coordinate address cleanse processes & results with internal IT and software subcontractor.
4. Work with Data Analyst on a plan that prepopulates potential customers to track pre-sales activities.
5. Create SOP document for all cleanse & update processes performed.
6. Assist Data Analyst with other data required for CRM implementation.
7. Provide input into departmental reporting for metrics and key performance indicators.
8. Review other processes for data collection & recording inefficiencies and propose improvements.
9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:

• Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or Business Administration.

Preferred Education:

• Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or Business Administration.

Required Experience:

• Knowledge of relational databases or analytical tools for business purposes, such as SQL, PowerBI, or Access.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a Graphics Installation role at Rosenbauer, or in the automotive industry.
• Previous design work in the automotive industry.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position works in an office environment. It is a quiet environment that is temperature controlled, ventilated, and well-lit. Working Conditions will include a desk space where most of the shift will be spent, and it provides open space to work in. This office space is routinely cleaned by Rosenbauer Cleaning Services. It has access to all welfare facilities. This position requires traveling to different departments, so working conditions vary when out of the office. This can cause exposure to extreme cold or heat depending on the season. Working conditions may include humidity, wet floors, and loud noises. Most of the hazards come from machines but following proper procedures should minimize risk. There is also sometimes dust and airborne particles due to the machines being used in all of the different shops.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires standing, walking, and the use of hands for the entire shift. It can become very loud in the shop with many machines being used at once. With constant noise, talking or hearing can be difficult. During shifts, some projects require the use of feet, hands, fingers, and arms for over 60 minutes, and the use of legs, back, and shoulders could be required for up to 30 minutes at a time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, and good depth perception. All positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds.
