SUMMARY
The Charge Capture Analyst is responsible for monitoring charge capture and charge reconciliation outcomes for Emergency Departments.
REQUIREMENTS
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Works closely with revenue cycle patient accounting HIMS and other key management personnel through the system to ensure complete and accurate charge capture and improve documentation compliance.
- Ensures that all additions changes and deletions are consistent with proper charging billing coding and pricing practices.
- Understands the annual review of charge master and quarterly updates as appropriate to enhance revenue for Emergency Departments.
- Fully understands the process flow of all assigned departments for their charging process whether paper or electronic.
- Monitors and reports all revenue departments charge volumes and late charges.
- Plans designs conducts and completes audits on charging and/or documentation accuracy and compliance with federal regulations and guidelines.
- Responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the coding classification schemes to assign diagnostic and procedural codes to a variety of patient type records.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED or combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years' experience in Charge Capture or Outpatient Coding preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Body Positions: Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
- Body Movements: Arm and hand dexterity.
- Body Senses: Must have command of close and distant sight, color perception and hearing.
- Strength: Ability to lift and move up to 25-pounds.
