Responsibilities
The Revenue IntegrityCharge Capture Analyst is responsible for facilitating proper Charge Capture and charge accuracy associated with hospital (facility) fee charges. This position reviews/enters facility charges from clinical documentation and ensures charge appropriateness and documentation requirements have been met for all services performed on a daily basis to ensure optimal billing reimbursement and compliance. Reconciles and audits daily charges within the charging systems and maintains the integrity of revenue capture coding and billing compliance. This position maximizes charge efficiency through: (1) Monitoring revenue cycle processes and staff functions; (2) Supporting CommonSpirit Health’s revenue capture and integrity through evaluating the accuracy of Charge Capture functions and staying apprised of payer and/or regulatory updates; (3) Assisting in the design and implementation of Charge Capture workflow improvements.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
1.1 Reviews charges (e.g. CPT codes, HCPCS codes, etc.) for accuracy and compliance with all applicable billing guidelines and optimization of reimbursement
1.2 Support the Charge Capture process to promote its accuracy and integrity across selected departments of the organization
1.3 Support maintenance and enhancement of charge activities to assure that charges accurately reflect services and supplies provided and are consistent with internal policies, adhere to regulatory reporting and billing requirements
1.4 Identify, quantify and communicate opportunities for Charge Capture improvement through medical record review/audits
1.5 Maintains knowledge of and adherence to code of conduct standards, confidentiality agreements, and the organization-wide mission statement
1.6 Ensure best practice “operations and process flows” are being adhered to and recommend changes as necessary
1.7 Support CommonSpirit Health Charge Capture initiatives (e.g. gross revenue monitoring, etc.)
Qualifications
Minimum
- Associate’s degree in healthcare administration finance business administration or related field
- Two (2) years’ experience in healthcare related revenue cycle functions including coding and billing guidelines may be substituted for an Associate’s degree
