The Echocardiograph Tech performs diagnostic studies according to protocol which facilitate the diagnosis of the case by the Cardiologist, recording on film and by digital acquisition, thus creating a permanent record of the data obtained. Technician must inform the Cardiologist immediately of any emergent findings, including the recording and reporting of Critical Values.
Performing adult and pediatric echocardiographic studies including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow Imaging, and Transesophageal Echocardiograms. The Echocardiograph Technologist is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. Echocardiography technologist training required.
Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure
- BLS required
- 1-3 years Diagnostic Cardiac testing
- Experienced in diagnostic care procedures
- Echocardiographer must be board eligible at time of hire
- Graduated from an accredited school of cardiovascular technology
- Experience with Philips & GE equipment, follow IAC standards and protocols
- Experience in Cardiac ultrasound; M-mode, 2-D, Color Flow Imaging, and TEE
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire
- Fully trained echocardiography technologist with one year of formal training, preferred
- Good patient interaction and knows how to populate reports
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
Travel to Florham Park required once a week.
