Distinctive Healthcare is currently seeking to hire a full time Echo Tech at the Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX.

Qualifications:

Degree/Education: Associates? Degree in Echocardiography or graduate from an accredited civilian Certification program. Completion of a comparably recognized advanced echocardiography program through one of the branches of the United States Armed Forces will also meet the requirements for this position.

Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support (5.2.3): Must have a current specialty area certificate from an accredited national, state or military trained equivalent school.

Experience: Must have at least 12 months of hands-on adult echocardiograms experience in the within the past 24 months. Echocardiograph technicians shall have experience creating 2- D and 3-D images of the heart using high frequency sound waves and special equipment.

The duties for the HCW are as follows:

Screens and checks in patients and escorts patients to treatment areas.

Accurately prepares room & patient for examinations, therapeutic measures and procedures assuring all needed equipment and supplies are available prior to the start of the exam.

Takes, monitors and records physiological measurements.

Performs medical treatment, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures per extender treatment protocols.

Prepares and administers medications under the supervision of a nurse or health care provider.

Assembles, maintains, and operates medical, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.

Maintains or assists with appropriate and accurate health record storage and retrieval systems.

Provides patient/parent education as requested

Performs or assists with the performance of specialized testing including EKGs, Holter Monitoring, Cardiac Stress Testing, and Echocardiography to include associated testing.

Upon completion of procedures and examinations, properly cleans and organizes room and performs any necessary cleaning of equipment as established by departmental policies and procedures and standards.
