EBSCOed - Sr. Product Marketing Manager
Develops and directs marketing programs for a significant product or product category. Compiles and evaluates research on the market's product requirements and identifies enhancements to current features and functionality. Establishes marketing strategies, including product direction, advertising, packaging, pricing, expense budgets, profit plans and future product development, to manage a product or product category's life cycle. Interfaces with engineers, designers, suppliers and customers to develop product requirements and specifications. Prepares and coordinates product introductions and updates. Typical profile at this level: Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Level at which career may stabilize for many years. Typically requires minimum 5 years relevant experience.
Required skills:
• 1 or more years’ experience working with the Alabama Talent Triad
• 4+ years’ professional experience developing annual marketing strategies and plans
• 4+ years’ professional experience developing promotional campaigns
• 1 or more years’ experience managing a marketing/promotional budget
Preferred skills:
• Understanding of skills-based hiring
• Understanding of digital wallets and learning and employment records
• Understanding of skills-based job descriptions
• Understanding of credential registries
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop effective marketing campaigns and create content that is both engaging and informative.
