Our client is a multi-billion-dollar international company with a sales and production network of over 50 bases that span from Asia to the U.S. to Europe supplying customers in over 130 countries.
We are searching for an East Coast Marketing Manager whose responsibility is both downstream sales and marketing focused. The position will be responsible for the development of Account Strategy in the Apparel Market to targeted manufacturers, retailers, and brand accounts.
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational certification in a relevant field (textiles, business, marketing, or product development)
- Strategic Marketing Knowledge: how to position and promote the company’s offerings
- Understanding of US brands sourcing matrixes & sourcing trends
- Previous marketing experience in the Active wear/ Intimate Apparel/ Swimwear/ Retailers/ Ready to wear/ Denim industry / Fabric Mill or Yarn Maker with minimum of 10 years
- Previous experience working in international/matrix organizations
Functions of the role:
- Development and Implementation of Strategic Marketing Plans for targeted apparel segments
- Understand value chain and trends impacting Market Segments
- Define Marketing Plan for Strategic Accounts aligned with HQ business strategy
- Define Strategic Partners to conduct joint development and promotional activities
- Identify growth opportunities for the company’s products defining sourcing matrixes of target brand/retail customers.
- Develop/Maintain relationships with key manufacturers, brands, and retailers
- Identify opportunities to position products for delivering value to target brands/retailers
- Gain specification/nomination of company’s products to suppliers for development of new business
- Communicate new product development needs in accordance to brands/retailers
- Track trials and potential adoptions through mills/value chain in partnership with sales or regional colleagues
- Maintain profitable specification/nomination of existing business in line with Commercial Plan Market Research and definition of Point Of View for future business planning
- Gather, prioritize, and communicate market point of view, identify customer requirements, and define the vision and strategy for the US apparel market to accelerate adoption of offerings with Brands and Retailers
- Define/Communicate industry trends and new product needs in US Markets
- Define market needs for top brands and retailers
- Understand value chain, textile trends and market dynamic impacting US Apparel Industry
- Communicate the US Apparel Market assessment which includes Key Accounts’ order status and next season’s prediction that are collected through market research and conversation with Supply Chains/Brands/Retailers
- Contribute to the communications plan and implementation (Advertising, Press Release, Promotional Opportunities)
- Lead the US East Coast trade shows preparation in collaboration with HQ marketing team and Global Marketing Team
- Work with partners to create targeted press releases, social media posts, retail support, contents, and success stories
- Develop and offer merchandising or promotional support as needed to enhance the brand in the marketplace
- Communicate meeting summaries and trip reports on regular basis
This is a work from home position, however the person must be located in the Northeast, preferably commuting distance into NYC to easily visit brands/retailers.
