Little Explorers Academy is opening soon and is currently hiring for all positions! As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping young minds and preparing them for their educational journey ahead. We are looking for experienced educators who can create an engaging and supportive learning environment tailored to the specific needs of preschool-aged children. It is imperative that you have a thorough understanding of the licensing and regulatory requirements outlined by the DCFS in Illinois in order to provide the utmost quality in education and childcare.
Responsibilities
- Maintain documentation, reporting and record keeping
- Support children’s emotional, physical, or behavioural well-being; while helping to develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills.
- Maintain attendance and health and safety checks.
- Responsible for the care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, specialized programs, and redirection of children
- Maintains classroom organization
- Engage with current and prospective parents and family members and is responsive to their needs.
- Work with professionals, such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as necessary
- Support children through transitions in and out of the classrooms
- Meet all classroom ratios as outlined in state regulations
- Participate and interact in team meetings and workshops
- Keep management informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of the children
Specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels with children, parents and co-workers.
- Ability to utilize computer systems for all documentation, reporting, and classroom operations
- Strong collaborator and team player
- Ability to take initiative in and out of the classroom
- Strong problem-solving skills
Compensation
- We offer competitive salaries based on the education level achieved and field experience.
- Salary: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 ECE credit hours, or approved Illinois CDA credentials or
- CDA, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in ECE
- Clear FBI, criminal, child abuse, and NSOR background checks
- Up to date Health Assessment
- Ability to push, pull and lift up-to 45 pounds
