ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement a developmentally appropriate Pre-K 3-4 & 5 program for young children
• Implement the Centers selected curriculum, meeting the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program
• Proficient at conducting child data and assessment abilities
• Provide weekly lesson plans and submit them to the Educational Coordinator.
• Meet regularly with teacher aide to develop weekly plans and activities
• Responsible for adequate recording and record keeping of information required to document the growth and development of children using the Teaching Strategies Gold System.
• Adhere to the IL Early Learning State Standards
• Keep abreast of current knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education
• Adhere to legal and educational requirements to ensure students' well-being.
• Chair meetings with teachers and parents
• Provide guidance to teachers to ensure that they are performing their functions correctly
• Coach teachers, particularly those with limited experience
• Liaising with other departments to facilitate the school's overall advancement
• Representing the school to relevant stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

• Requirements: BA in Early Childhood Education with Type-04 Illinois Certification or working towards state certification; IL Gateways Level 5 required - IL. 04 Certification (PEL)
• Experience in a teaching or assistant-teaching position with children 3-5 years old
• Proven experience in curriculum development and implementation
• Prior experience in teaching within this age group
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to mentor a diverse group of individuals
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A passion for Early Childhood Development
