Your Role As a HealthStreamer

Position Summary


The Director of Digital Sales, Higher Education Nursing will be responsible for leading and growing a team of sales Solution and Account Executives who are responsible for selling HealthStream’s SaaS based portfolio of Higher Education Nursing content, including clinical placement, medical technology, nurse scheduling, and workforce development solutions into both the healthcare and Higher Education channels. This role’s key objective is to spearhead HealthStream's expansion of these solutions into both the healthcare and Higher Education Nursing school channels, solidifying HealthStream’s position as a trailblazer in the field.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for adhering to all HeathStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.

  • Recruit and retain top performing sales professionals across multiple sub-teams targeting different buyers in different channels.

  • Ensure optimum performance of the sales team including defining and implementing strategic sales planning, achieving sales goals, forecasting accuracy, analyzing sales data, and meeting with key clients.

  • Lead and expand our sales initiatives within our emerging school channel especially focusing on our solutions to support nursing student workforce readiness.

  • Leverage deep industry knowledge of the higher ed procurement process, particularly within nursing schools, to strategically position HealthStream's products.

  • Engage in high-level business development activities to forge robust relationships with key stakeholders in the Higher Education channel, specifically nursing schools.

  • Empower and guide a sales team with a dynamic, entrepreneurial approach, ensuring they have the vision and resources required to meet sales objectives while holding each member of the team accountable to meaningful sales activities within their assigned accounts.

  • Demonstrate a track record of success in selling to nursing schools, showcasing an ability to navigate and succeed in the school channel.

  • Analyze market trends and innovate sales strategies to meet the evolving demands of Digital education.

  • Forecast with trustworthiness the teams’ monthly, quarterly, and annual sales projections while developing each team member’s forecasting acumen, including accurate sales pipeline documentation per HealthStream’s pipeline management policy.

Qualifications

What You Will Need to be Successful

Education, Experience and Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required. Nursing degree (BSN) or clinical license preferred.

  • A minimum of 7 years of proven healthcare sales leadership experience in the Higher Educational sector, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in digital content sales into nursing programs/schools.

  • Previous experience leading a sales team who has worked with prominent providers of Higher Education digital healthcare solutions (i.e. Pearson, Wolters Kluwer, Elsevier, McGraw Hill)

    • Solid understanding of the complexity of selling into the healthcare market across the continuum of care as well as the buying processes of educational institutions, particularly in nursing schools.

  • Prior experience in leading and managing a successful sales team, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and drive results. Proven track record of consistently hitting your assigned team quota.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong operational and strategic acumen. High motor and initiative.


Skills and Abilities Required

  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset and operational prowess, driving our proven solutions into new channels, specifically the school market (Higher Education, nursing)

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skill to thrive in a highly collaborative, “start-up” culture.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate strategically and tactically.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining productive client relationships.

  • Analytical skills to evaluate market trends and sales performance data.

  • High proficiency in CRM tools.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications with heavy use of Excel and PowerBi

  • High emotional intelligence and ability to handle conflict through a basis of trust.
