WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking to fill two journey level mechanic positions to assist with our ski Lift and Vehicle Maintenance and repair needs. The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience with diesel engines and hydraulic powered equipment. Previous ski industry experience is preferable, experience in other like industries that deal with low voltage and mechanical systems. A willingness to expand knowledge with on-the-job training and fill gaps where needed is important. Reliable transportation is a must. Winter housing options for non-local applicants is available.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
Typical work week is Wednesday through Sunday 7:00am to 4:00pm during the winter season. Options to work a flex schedule in the summer is present. Working holidays and weekends is mandatory.
Typical Responsibilities
DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for independently performing routine and complex maintenance and repair of ski area equipment and buildings. This level performs lead duties, including assigning daily tasks, providing training, giving instructions and checking lower level Mechanic work. In addition, the incumbent may make maintenance or repair decision when the Lift and Vehicle Maintenance Manager and the Director of Mountain Operations are absent. Eaglecrest has a wide array of heavy equipment from Excavators, dump trucks and road graders to snowcats snowmobiles and 4wheelers. You will get exposure to many different pieces of equipment. Most of the equipment is non-tier 4 equipment except our 2018 Pisten Bully 400 winch cat. Eaglecrest has three riblet double chairlifts and one hall double chair and will be installing a Doppelmayr fixed grip pulsing Gondola.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Six (6) years of extensive experience in construction, maintenance and repair of buildings, structures, or machinery, including at least two (2) years at the full proficiency level in at least one (1) of the trades or crafts areas.
Substitution:
Two (2) years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic II in the City and Borough of Juneau or the equivalent elsewhere.
Other:
Valid Alaska Driver's License at time of appointment and for continued employment.
