POSITION SUMMARY: The Durable Medical Equipment Technician I is responsible for timely and accurate fulfillment of Durable Medical Equipment requests through research, communication, delivery, inventory management tasks and performing repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for fulfillment of assigned DME requests within establish deadlines through communication with procurement, therapy and medical staff and participants
- Responsible for completing delivery and inspection coordination of DME items as scheduled; communicates any problems that arise with DME Tech II
- Develops expertise in all DME areas; Assists with maintaining established inventory levels through communication with DME Tech II
- Completes assembly, collection, cleaning, documentation and accurate tracking of DME inventory
- Completes accurate documentation of services provided to participants in Electronic Health Record and maintains digital filing system in accordance with Procurement Manager's requirements, policies and procedures
- Assists with performing and/or making arrangements with vendors for the diagnosis and repair of DME equipment
- Provides support to other departmental positions as needed
- Assists with cost and availability research with potential vendors
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Minimum High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Experience working with the frail or elderly population preferred
- Previous knowledge or experience working with Durable Medical Equipment preferred
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers
- Must have a current Colorado Driver's License and driving record must be in compliance with Company policy. Must maintain current automobile insurance
- Skilled with Microsoft Office software including, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to use databases and use of other technological tools like bar coding scanners, or related equipment
