As a DSP Engineer, you will design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs. You will actively drive a highly motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems.
Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development, and test. You will belong to or lead a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.
Position Responsibilities:

• Design and develop next generation RF and digital satellite communication systems.
• Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithms.
• Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
• Perform waveform development and characterization.
• Perform trade studies.
• Support integration ant test of our payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations.
• Support HDL-level design and verification.
• Perform detailed system design and verification activities.
• Lead teams and IR&D activities.

In order to meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite in El Segundo, CA.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically or internationally depending on business needs.
This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• 10+ years of experience with digital signals processing for communications and/or sensing applications.
• 5+ years of experience with MATLAB or Simulink.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design and trade design).
• 5+ years of experience working with FPGAs or ASICs.

Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:

• Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, waveform generator, spectrum analyzer).
• Experience leading teams of engineers.

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: 157,250 - 212,750.
