Sunny Place Foster Homes has 3 Adult Foster Care settings in the St. Cloud area. We provide person-centered care to our individuals. Our individuals have unique goals and during the day are provided with 1:1 staffing to ensure all goals and needs are met. Management provides support and training to all staff and are great with helping to generate ideas to reach goals and assist with problem solving. It is important to maintain a calm and therapuetic environment for our individuals. We are dedicated to providing a great home and work environment.

Direct Support Professionals care for individuals experiencing developmental or intellectual disabilities or illnesses. Their main duties include helping patients complete basic housekeeping tasks, transporting patients to appointments or other social outings and keeping individuals safe from potential health hazards in their surrounding environment.

Direct Support Professional duties and responsibilities

Direct Support Professionals work with individuals with mental or developmental disabilities by creating behavior plans, teaching self-care skills, cooking meals and doing laundry. Additional duties may include:

• Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing
• Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying
• Helping plan client appointments and organize a schedule
• Organizing with transportation arrangements to appointments
• Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs
• Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
