DSP (Direct Support Professional)

We currently have Full Time and Part time Direct Support Professional positions available within our Decatur area CILA Home sites. Community Integrated Living Arrangement's or CILA are small residential home sites where upto 8 intellectually disabled adults reside. Our employees work within these home sites to help our clients maintain healthy lifestyles, assist in developing life skills and accessing their community. Some examples of our client goals and life skills include swimming, bowling, shopping, fishing, going to the movies, and enjoying many other fun activities! Other areas where our client's need assistance also include: activities of daily living (medication administration, bathing and grooming) educational skils (learning to read, write, verbal communication, social, money). A brief description of Key Responsibilities of our Direct Support Personnel are:

• Assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living:
• Cooking, Cleaning, Bathing, Medication Administration
• Assisting clients with Activities/Crafts
• Assisting clients with education skill development
• Assisting clients with social skill development
• Assisting clients with vocational skill development
• Assisting clients with activity of daily living skill development
• Assist clients with accessing community activities and outings: church, restaurants, bowling, YMCA, sporting events, shopping, grocery store.
• Assisting clients with emergency procedures
• Maintain Health & Safety of Clients at all times

We expect our Direct Support Personnel to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, highly detail orientated, dependable, maintain an outgoing personality at work, kind hearted, easy to work with and willing to take direction from their supervisors.
