Overview:
The Owner Operator/Independent Contractor will operate their own vehicle equipped to provide nonemergency transport of mobility- impaired individuals and/or children by offering safe custom transportation to medical appointments or school transportation.
Owner/Operators are a critical part of the services we provide, so it is vital that the people we contract with are a good fit with the commitments and shared values of the clients.
About EMT Contracting:
At EMT Contracting, Inc. contracts with independent contractors to provide services to ambulatory clients either for school or medical transportation. Independent Contractors can provide their own vehicles for transportation, or they have the option to lease a vehicle from Hospital Shuttle Leasing. All vehicles must meet the standard qualifications for meeting the needs of clients.
Coverage Sought
Reliable independent contractors with availability to transport passengers:
Monday-Saturday 4 am - 7 pm
Responsibilities:
- Operate a Safe and Maintained Vehicle that meets all State requirements.
- Operate the vehicle within the limits of all laws and obey all traffic laws
- Routed Passenger Transportation – Independent Contracts can accept routes based on availability
- Communicate with Broker regularly while transporting passengers
- Ensure each passenger is properly secured with lap, shoulder belts and tie downs
- Monitor passenger activity periodically while taking care not to become distracted
- Maintain proper licenses, certifications and insurance coverages applicable with the client
- Alert Broker of any problems so they can assist
- Maintain flexibility as situations can and will change frequently
Requirements:
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Must own a 4-door family sedan, SUV, or Van
- Vehicle used must pass a vendor required inspection
- Must possess a valid Missouri Class E License
- Must successfully pass a DOT physical, drug test, and FBI criminal background check
- Ability to understand and follow DOT rules and regulations
Commissions:
- Average payout of $1,200 to $1,600 per week
- Paid by loaded passenger mile
- Initial investment of $500 required for Branding, Credentialing, and Certifications (deducted from commissions/settlement over a period of time)
- Paid weekly through EMT Contracting’s third-party administrator
