POSITION SUMMARY
This position consists of teaching the following:
Drawing for grades 4-8, period 1, 9:00-9:50
There is a 12 student limit for this course.
Candidate will have knowledge and experience with drawing as a medium and experience teaching students grades 4-8.
The class is 5 weeks in length. Student work will be shown at Open House in the final week.
Instructor will be aided by 2-3 counselors who have experience in drawing.
PLEASE NOTE:
• Training Day (paid) is 9am-2pm, Saturday, June 15
• Program Dates: June 17-July 19, with Juneteenth (June 19th) and July 4th off
• Onboarding is required (approx. 2 hours). Will be scheduled before beginning of program.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan drawing projects that are sequential and have set outcomes that are achievable for students during the length of the Summer Program.
- Report to the Directors of the Arts Unlimited Program.
- Must maintain safe work practices and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Must enjoy working with children grades 4-8
- Must attend a mandatory staff training day on Saturday, June 15th from 9:00am – 3:00pm
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- Experience in the medium of drawing (basic art skills and knowledge of the various methods and materials)
- Experience of working with and teaching children

- Required to lift and carry up to a maximum of 25 lbs., in a correct manner consistent with the appropriate training provided by the School.
- Occasionally required to use hand to handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and an ability to adjust focus.
- May use telephone, computer, copier, and other office equipment in the course of a day.
- Required to sit while operating word processing equipment, repetitive motion for typing and other keystroke needs.
- Will require working with hot materials.
