Job description

Database and Donor Information Manager

Founded in 1989, by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, The York Street Project is a not-for-profit

501c3 social service organization whose overarching mission is to weave innovative programs together that shelter, feed, educate and promote the healing and independence of persons in need, especially women, children and families. The Project is composed of multiple housing programs for homeless families and single women, an early childhood development center and supportive services, including mental health counseling, career development, and life skills training.

The work environment is collaborative and empowering for both staff and program participants with a major focus on family and individual well-being, and the educational, economical and human development of women, children, and families.

Responsibilities:

● Managing data integrity
● Creating data structures to support York Street Project’s evolving needs
● Managing data needs, creating user rights, funds, campaigns, tables, and configuration for the data system

● Process donations
● Draft and execute donor acknowledgment letters
● Prepare, process, and mail philanthropic stewardship letters
● Maintain monthly reconciliation of grants and donations to the general ledger
● Act as the Development Department’s liaison with the Finance Department

● Creating and maintaining simple and complex reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, graphs and presentations, to analyze and report various financial and service information

● Produce ad-hoc reports as needed
● Training of database, maintaining training materials and ensure comprehension
● Leadership to manage data driven projects
● Ability to perform imports and exports of data
● Proactively meet with Development Department and other key organizational staff to build relationships and review data needs

● Ensuring protocols for entering and maintaining information are consistently followed, including making recommendations for necessary improvements

● Works with outside vendors and internal technical resources in the design and implementation of the database

● Provide administrative event support
● Provide information support to staff, volunteers, and constituents
● Partner with York Street Project staff to ensure continuous outreach to donors through the website, constant contact, email blasts and updates

● Provide additional administrative support where necessary.

Requirements:

● Must have the ability to work well with others
● Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required, as are a commitment to customer service and the ability to deal effectively with internal and external constituencies

● Must demonstrate attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and an ability to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities with good judgment

● A thorough understanding of database management, gift processing, and donor relations
● Highly proficient writing and editing skills
● Strong PC skills: "Etapestry" (Blackbaud), Database CRM Management, Microsoft Word, Excel,

Outlook, Adobe, Publisher, and Mailchimp

● Must be a flexible, enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively on a team

● Must respect the confidentiality of information and demonstrate personal integrity
● A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience in the fields of non-profit database management, Development, or finance
